Has anyone done the Texas Driving Experience at Texas Motor Speedway?
I was wondering if anyone has ever done the Texas Driving Experience out at Texas Motor Speedway? It is where the general public can pay to race corvettes and/or have a professional driver drive them around the track. I have purchased this for my husband as a surprise Valentine’s Day gift and scheduled for him to go this Saturday. After I paid the lady over the phone told me she would email some forms for me to fill out, well it is these forms that shocked me and made me very nervous. They were asking for blood type and another was a release saying they weren’t responsible for injuries, kinda scary huh? I was just wondering if anyone has ever done this or known anyone who had done this or something similar, and how much risk is really involved and if it is a safe thing to do. Thanks everyone. These track days are really well handled, and generally safer than the drive up there. For liability reasons they have to inform you that there are indeed risks associated with this sport. Its the same as if you where to go horse back riding. Basically you are assuming responsibility if something where to go wrong. TMS is a great track though. Not as though they are a whole in the wall type.

LUCKY HUSBAND!

I dont even have a valentine, much less such a great wife!

Ive never done an event at this particular track, but I have done several at other road courses, and drag strips. The chance of him getting hurt is VERY VERY VERY low. The fact that they asked about blood type etc just goes to show how much thought they have put into safety. He will have to wear an array of protective gear, an ambulance will be on standby, and many saftey officials will be monitoring the track. Relax, he will be fine, Im sure it will be a wonderful experiance!

Possibly Evanescence?
It popped in my head this today. I only have limited info but hopefully it will help-

1. The song is sung by a woman. I’m pretty sure its Evanescence.

2. If you can read music here is how the part I remember goes (I can’t even remember the lyrics sry) G, D, D#, C, repeat. Then D, D#, D, D, D#, D, D, Very Short pause, C, B, C. Or something like that. Might be in the wrong key But whatever,

I like Christmas movies like Elf w/ Will Ferrell, Surviving Christmas w/ Ben Affleck, Fred Claus w/ Vince Vaughn…and of course Christmas Vacation w/ Chevy Chase haha. But I want to put a bunch more Christmas movies on my Netflix queue so what other ones do you recommend?

Really, really annoyed…?
Basically, i’ve been part loaning a pony one day a week for almost three years and she is my LIFE. I absolutely love her and she means everything. I’ve got my own system going and it was working very well. The past few weeks have been some of the best of my life, but now a small child (she’s nine and i’m thirteen) also started loaning her. She comes on the same day as me and I have to share her with her. I know I sound like a spoilt brat, but it’s not like that. She really doesn’t know what she’s doing, she comes up with stupid ideas and I really don’t like her. I’m trying to be nice to her, but it’s so hard to. All her friends loan a different pony to her, and I can’t see why she can’t just join them?

I would discuss this with the owner. I actually lease horses, because when you do competitive jumping you progress in leaps and bounds, and its more cost effective to lease….anyways I ride my lease horses about 3-4x a week, and occasionally I have to deal with an over-zealous other leaser. There was one girl who was leasing him 1x a week, i leased him 3x, and the owner rode him 3x as well. She wanted to take him to tons and tons of shows, and she wanted to jump him as well, and me and the owner had agreed that i was the only one who would jump him (owner did dressage). Me and her butted heads for while, until I discussed this with the owner, and we worked out that the girl wouldnt be able to lease anymore. It all worked out well in the end.

Because she’s young, she’s probably too immature to take you seriously, but also dont talk to her parents becuase they wont either. Talk to your horses owner.

Sometimes horse owners, even loaners, have to be assertive. Be honest and say that some of her ideas aren’t very safe for the horse. (If you think they’re unsafe.)
Also, you could try to work a schedule out with her parents so you each come out on different days and ride. Since you only ride her one day a week it shouldn’t be to hard to get one.

Or..as hard as it may seem, maybe it’s time to find a new horse to loan. I know you say she’s your life and I TOTALLY get that, believe me I do, but what’s the point in riding if you can’t have any fun?

it just means you miss her. maybe you feel guilty that you were a jerk. maybe you wonder what could’ve happened if you weren’t? hard to say but either way, i have been the girl in this situation, with a jerk of an ex who took me for granted and apologized too late. leave her alone, don’t contact her just because you have some stirred up emotions. you’ll get through it, just give it some time and try not use other girls in the mean time to distract yourself, it won’t do you any good in the long run.

Hmmm, are you in love with her or just guilty over being a jerk to her? You need to really think about this - if you did get back together with her, realised it was just because you had been a jerk to her, and then broke up with her again it would really hurt her, and no one deserves that.

To be quite honest, you do sound like a jerk; every girl wants to be loved, not treated like dirt (that rhymes! Sorry, I’m easily amused) and so in my opinion I think you’ve waited too long, and the fact that you’ve dated other girls would be the deal breaker for me and I just wouldn’t take you back. But hey, everyone has their own opinion: talk to this girl and tell her how you feel, but don’t be surprised if she says no.

Sorry if I sound really harsh here by the way, I just hate guys who are jerks to their girlfriends.

What do you think of this story?
This is the first chapter of a book I’m writing. I’m 16 and absolutely love reading books and was it with an inspiration to write one this year. I am almost done with the second chapter of the book but I’d really enjoy hearing what you think about it and any suggestions on how to improve it.
